Bio

Beginning in 2009 Nils studied Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at TU Darmstadt with a major in Computer Engineering (Datentechnik). As a student assistant, working with Professor Dr. Silvia Santini, he focused on protocol design for and performance evaluations of wireless sensor networks with a direction to mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). In his studies Nils targeted network(-ing) systems and communication technologies for distributed software systems. In 2014 Nils obtained his Master's degree with the thesis "Adaptive Monitoring for Mobile Networks in Challenged Environments".

In 2015 he started as a PhD student at Multimedia Communications Lab (KOM) at the Technische Universität Darmstadt. His research interests on distributed systems and adaptive monitoring systems including communication protocols fit perfectly with his work in the collaborative research centre MAKI, where he is working in the project area B1.

  • Network Prediction based on simple network heuristics
