XAM4SWS.KOM – A Cross-Architectural Semantic Matchmaker

Description

In the context of Service-oriented Architectures (SOA), matchmaking describes the task of discovering functionally adequate services based on a manually or automatically specified query. It can be seen as an essential prerequisite for realizing the vision of the Internet of Services, where a wide range of services are offered on public marketplaces and dynamically selected for the execution of business processes.

XAM4SWS.KOM (“Cross-Architectural Matchmaker for Semantic Web Services”) is a tool that supports matchmaking based on syntactic and semantic information across a variety of description standards, including WSDL 1.1 and 2.0, SAWSDL, and hRESTS in conjunction with MicroWSMO.

XAM4SWS.KOM has been developed by Stefan Schulte and Ulrich Lampe between 2009 and 2011 [Lam12, SLKS12, LSS+10, SLES10] and achieved top places in the renowned Semantic Service Selection (S3) Contest in previous years.
