First Comm'n'Sense.KOM Mini-Workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks

Welcome to the web page of the first Comm'n'Sense.KOM mini workshop on Wireless Sensor Networks. It will be held on 7 July 2009 at the Multimedia Communications Lab seminar room (S3 06 / 348, for directions see here).

Scope of the workshop

Sensor networks are expected to play a very vital role in enabling communication services in future. Moreover, such networks can be used to monitor and effectively control production plants, industrial
networks, monitor homes as well as in the health-care scenario. Thus, we see that the range of applications for wireless sensor networks is very vast and diverse. This range of applications brings up challenges for performance guarantees, quality of service, security, privacy and a number of other novel challenges given the envisioned scale of such networks. Within the scope of the Comm'n'Sense.KOM mini workshop which is being organized by the Multimedia Communication Lab (KOM), TU Darmstadt, leading researchers will have an opportunity to present state-of-the art research in their respective fields. We heartily encourage the invited researchers to present late-breaking results and early stage research.

Comm'n'Sense.KOM aims to get together a selected range of experts working in different areas of wireless sensor networking. This will serve to enhance and encourage cooperation at all levels between the leading researchers and also provide a platform for exploring common interests as well as areas for collaboration.
