The master module "Transport Protocols and their Design" provides in-depth knowledge in the area of transport protocols, especially in their interaction with other layers in the Internet protocol stack.

The module provides in-depth knowledge in the area of transport protocols and related issues. Robustness, implementability, efficiency, speed and reliability considerations are addressed. In particular, the modeling of the behavior of protocols and their interaction with other layers in the Internet protocol stack are considered. The focus is on the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and its variants.

The module is offered every third semester.
