Abstract: In this paper we concentrate on the description of an effective way to create interactive tests. Unlike other work, our model employs a multilayered presentation to improve the effectiveness of learning. Our approach separates questions from Java applets and use the applets in conjunction with a simple authoring tool for adding questions and corresponding hints. The applets should show an animation or a simulation of a certain topic, and the question should be asked in relation not only to an applet but can also relate to other media such as video, picture, sound.
